During this time period the industry became more complex and financial expertise became an essential part of the process of buying and selling fishing vessels. In 1978 Nelson joined forces with Bill Daniels taking the business over from Ed Athearn. Recently the company was purchased by the TriNav group and Nelson continues to work full time for the company. He joined the Athearn Marine Agency in 1968 after a fishing related injury kept him ashore. The son of a commercial fisherman, John has been involved in and around the fishing industry his entire life and has both inshore and offshore "first-hand" fishing experience. Bill brings his 10 plus years of CPA firm experience back to the waterfront. Bill grew up in Fairhaven and started a tax practice primarily servicing fisherman and fishing corporations. Bill has continued his relationships within the fishing community and plans to serve old and new clients in a courteous and professional manner.
